Attractive movements during chain wrestling
Chain Wrestling was one of the most requested features WWE 2K fans wanted to see the return. Good news: We’re back at WWE 2K25!
A popular feature was last seen in WWE 2K19. Returns are welcome. This adds another storytelling element to the match, adding a better sense of immersion overall, and replicating live WWE products more than ever.
Learn about chain wrestling, control and how to get started with its benefits.
How to Start Chain Wrestling on WWE 2K25
At the start of the match, a chain icon will appear above the wrestler’s nameplate. This shows that you can engage in chain wrestling by locking your fingers. One thing to note is that you can start chain wrestling at the start of a match. Once the match begins, the chain wrestling meter will run out, so you need to move quickly.
Here’s how to start chain wrestling with each control setup:
- You need an Xbox controller Pushed in and held B button Until chain wrestling began.
- You need a PlayStation controller Press the circle button to hold it Until chain wrestling began.
Once chain wrestling is launched, you will be presented with a new HUD that offers options to continue with chain wrestling techniques.
Attractive movements during chain wrestling
At the start of chain wrestling, you will be given a prompt as to how you want to manipulate things. You can drive your opponent into corners, switch positioning, wrench, or attack.
Driving an opponent involves pushing them into the corner. This will break the chainreslin group, but put it in a dangerous position.
Switch allows you to move to another hold.
The wrench enables grapples such as headlocks, armbars and other options.
Attacking your opponent is just that. Attack them.
Move the joystick to the left in the direction of your desired movement. For example, if you want to drive John Cena to the corner, select the drive option here.
The larger the slice size of the prompt, the easier it will be to complete the movement.
Next, because there is no better term, you will be taken to another new HUD that offers mini-games. Here you need to spin the left joystick until you feel feedback while heading in a certain direction. This is an indicator for filling the circle by pointing the joystick in that direction. Anyone who fills the circle will first complete the chain wrestling move.
I won here (sometimes I “slip” and move the joystick even if my computer opponent is in the right direction), so I even have the option of pinning Cena to the corner and smacking him with a cheap shot after REF breaks us.
Chain Wrestling is what was added to WWE 2K25. Players can take their time to feel their opponent. Some superstars would rather be exposed to the action. Don’t forget that you’ll take two to your tango. You can start chain wrestling, but be careful as if it is rejected, you may be on the receiver of an offensive attack!
This can also be used for your benefit. If you see someone ready to lock their fingers, be caught off guard, deny their progress and don’t be afraid to hit them when they are least expecting.
