Why One Photo on LinkedIn Has Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Fans Excited

The Warhammer 40,000 real-time strategy series Dawn of War has been dormant since Relic Entertainment ended its efforts in 2017, Dawn of War 3 support. Still, the first two games are very much loved by fans.

Well, after one photo is released on LinkedIn, Dawn of War fans hope that something new in the series is finally on the way.

Let’s start with Relic Entertainment itself. Recently, he became independent from his former owner, Sega, through an investment from Emona Capital. Emona’s managing partner Dominique Drenek has announced a selfie on LinkedIn, showing him the Nottingham headquarters of the Games Workshop and Mecca, Warhammer World. Yes, it’s a statue of the Space Marines in the background. That’s great.

However, the foreground is even more interesting. Dolenec wears a Relic Entertainment T-shirt for his trip to the gaming workshop, so it can reasonably be assumed that he is in a town representing the developer.

“A great visit to the Nottingham Game Workshop PLC,” Drenek said. “Thank you to Owen Rees for sharing Warhammer Magic with us! We look forward to deepening our partnership over the next few years. 💪🎮 “”

Owen Rees is the group head of licenses at Games Workshop. He is working on many Warhammer video games and leads the licensing of all Warhammer products video games and consumer products. It is also worth noting the emoji at the end of Drenek’s comment. This reads very much like a video game business meeting.

You can imagine speculation. Dawn of War 4 is at the top of your wish list, but perhaps the remakes of Dawn of War 1 and/or 2 are on the cards instead. Be optimistic and suggest that brand new games and remakes are all in the work. Why is it not good?

Here’s what we know: GamesWorkshop is looking for the next Big Warhammer video game hit after the hugely successful 5 million Space Marine 2 changes everything to developer Saber Interactive.

In January, reporting the results for the first half of the fiscal year ending December 1, 2024, Game Workshop CEO Kevin Rowntree welcomed the success of Space Marine 2.

In fact, license revenue from royalty revenues rose to £18 million (approximately $21.9 million) over the period to £30 million (approximately $36.7 million). The key figure here is the revenue earned from £5.9 million (approximately $7.2 million) to £26.1 million (approximately $31.8 million).

All of the wins since then, but Rountree has expressed some attention to the potential for future video games success, rarely admitting a hit like Space Marine 2.

Here’s the statement:

During the period, the license partners launched two new video games. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, third-person shooter game for PC and consoles, Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks, Combat Racing game. The established game continues to contribute along with the loyalty revenues it earned following the success of Space Marine 2. We recognize that this success of Warhammer is not given in the world of video games. Obviously I’m looking for the next one. We are cautious when forecasting royalty income.

So where did this big Warhammer video game come from? It seems inevitable that Saber Interactive will have the opportunity to continue Space Marine Story with Space Marine 3, and in fact, he says there is an idea for a third game.

The Warhammer 40,000 is bigger than ever. Released as part of the Secret-level anthology series, Amazon’s Space Marine 2 animation worked well with the fans. And on Amazon’s work on Warhammer’s 40,000 projects surrounded by Henry Cavill, they’ve been apart for years, but there’s a great deal of excitement. Creative Assembly is reportedly working on Warhammer 40,000 total war game (ultimately!), but it’s clearly a few years away. In the meantime, is there a revival of war scratching itching itching of its strategy?
