Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Dev Moves to ‘Set the Record Straight,’ Insists It’s Not Abandoning the Game Following Space Marine 3 Announcement

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 Is Officially in the Works — So Which Chapters Could It Feature, and Which Enemy Factions Could You Fight Against?

It sparked a surprising announcement that the development of Space Marine 3 Development has begun to send shockwaves through the Warhammer 40,000 community, and concerns about the future of Space Marine 2.

Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive announced Space Marine 3 in mid-March. This was announced just six months after Space Marine 2 came out amid existing concerns about the amount of content that comes into the game to inspire existing players.

In a new blog post, the companies have addressed this concern, committed to continuing to support Space Marine 2, and made important announcements about what’s going forward.

“In mid-March, we announced that Space Marine 3 has begun development. We are excited to see your enthusiasm, but we are hearing from people who are afraid of Space Marine 2 and its future support,” the statement read.

“So let’s set the records straight. Space Marine 3 doesn’t mean the end of Space Marine 2 development. It’s far from it. The team hasn’t shifted, and no one has abandoned the game.

So, what are those plans? One roadmap for Space Marine 2 is still on, with Patch 7 scheduled for release in mid-April. However, in the coming months, Space Marine 2 will acquire new classes and new PVE operations and melee weapons. “Trust us, there are surprises Dataminer hasn’t found :)” the statement teased.

“This announcement simply marks the origins of a new project several years from its release. We made a decision and started the process.

“Many of you were very excited about this project, which makes us incredibly happy and motivated, and we appreciate your unwavering support.

“That being said, there’s a lot to offer to Space Marine 2 players.”

The big announcement here is the new class, but the new melee weapons aren’t too late. Fans have already speculated about what these are. As for the new class, we assume that in most cases it will become a pharmacist, as close to the Medic class as the Space Marines. But there is hope that it could be a librarian.

As for melee weapons, fans have already said they want to see the x of Secret Level’s excellent Warhammer 40,000 animated episodes in the game.

The Go-Amead on Space Marine 3 is hardly a surprise given how well Space Marine 2 went. Talk to Passthecontroller following the release of Space Marine 2Tim Willits, chief creative officer of Saber Interactive, said it could be a Story DLC, revealing that the idea for Space Marine 3 is already on the rise. It strongly suggests continuity without ruining the Space Marine 2 campaign (Passthecontroller reports on enemy facts that are likely seen in Space Marine 3).

“Our game director Dmitry Grigorenko, he suggested the idea for a story, either DLC or a sequel,” Willit said at the time. “Yes, yes, yes! There are a lot of different factions… there are other chapters too.
