Boom Time has continued with the Warhammer 40,000 Maker Games workshop, and announced that it will be handing out £20 million (approximately $27 million) to staff as a bonus.
Nottingham, the UK company second only to Warhammer Tabletop Games and its vast setting, said that in the 52 weeks ending June 1, 2025, core revenues increased by £560 million from £494.7 million in the previous period. License revenues ranged from £31 million to £50 million. Core profits range from £124.8 million to £210 million, while licensing profits increase from £27 million to £45 million. This amounts to profit from £255 million before tax.
Behind these enormous benefits, and “recognizing the contributions of staff to these outcomes,” Game Workshop gives employees £20 million, from £18 million distributed last year. Money is paid equally to each staff member. The game workshop is estimated to have a staff of around 1,500 people. If that’s accurate, that means each employee is set to a bonus of £13,333 (approximately $18,000).
The main business of Games Workshop is selling and painting miniature fans for use with tabletop Wargames such as the Warhammer 40,000. But it’s increasingly an IP business, with huge revenues from animations such as Smash hit video games like last year’s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and secret level episodes of Amazon’s Warhammer 40,000. Last year, Games Workshop and Amazon confirmed their contract with Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40,000 Cinematic Universe. This includes creating movies and TV series. Space Marine 3 is also under development.
Where do you go to the game workshop from here? The company noted that its license revenues over the period were on record levels and does not expect this to repeat in 2025/26. The Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer are generally larger than ever, and based on these results, they don’t slow down anytime soon.
Games Workshop recently held its annual Warhammer Skulls Showcase. Here are all the announcements and trailers. Highlights include the definitive edition of Space Marine 2’s Dawn of War of War and the Siege Mode.
