The Warhammer Skulls 2025 video game showcase is over. Clear highlights include a revival of Relic’s much-loved Dawn of War real-time strategy series, a surprise master edited version of First Space Marine, a teaser for the upcoming Horde mode of Space Marine 2, a teaser called Siege, and an announcement of Owlcat’s next Warhammer 40,000 CRPG, Dark Heresy.
More was confirmed during the show. So, in case you missed it, here is all the summary announced at Warhammer Skulls 2025, with enough trailers to satisfy even the most gross-mouthed inquisitors.
Warhammer Skulls has revealed the world premiere of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, Boltgun 2 sequels. The retro first-person shooter is scheduled to be released in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S.
Meanwhile, the free-to-play typing game Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun-Words of Vengeance is out on PC via Steam. Here, you can connect the keyboard and twist the bolt gun to “release the power of WPM (word percent).”
Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks has launched a 1.0 version from Early Access with new vehicles and levels. Starting 1.0 will end the free early access period, and 1.0 updates are completely free for each early access player. As part of the 1.0 update, all in-game microtransactions will be removed. Players who have acquired or purchased in-game currency in-game will be able to use it for the next 12 months while in-game access, but the in-game store will no longer be available to the public. Instead, Speed Freeks will introduce a series of new DLC packs at launch, delivering content in a more traditional format.
Owlcat has announced its next CRPG, the Warhammer 40,000. Dark Elecy 2 alongside the expansion to Rogue Traders and Season Pass. Dark Helly is the studio’s second story-driven tactical RPG set in Warhammer 40,000 universes. Contrary to the mystery of Noctis Eterna’s background and the tyrant planet, the player leads a diverse range of fellow combat strips, from the world of Katachan’s death to the faithful kingdom to the faithful xeno, including the mercy of the bird-like krot. It will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S
The second major story extension for Rogue Trader is called Lex Imperialis, and Season Pass 2 includes two additional “Story Rich” DLCs and a customised pack of appearance. Lex Imperialis thrusts the player into the iron grip of Imperial Law. The new 15-hour story introduces Adeptus’ arbiters, the corrupt enforcer faction, and new companions, Grim and Frentless Solomorne Anthar. It is scheduled for June 24th.
Meanwhile, Season Pass 2 bundles two new expansions and a customised pack of appearance. With a third major addition to the game, players enter the Necron Vault curated by Infinite Trazyn, challenging ancient guardians and revealing artifacts related to the legacy of von Barancius. The fourth explores the damned procession, the surreal Boydship cemetery. Each of these DLCs offers around 15 hours of gameplay, featuring new companion characters, new quests deeply integrated into the main storyline, and new mechanics.
One of the big surprises of the show was the master-created version of the original Warhammer 40,000 that will come to PC and Xbox Game Pass on June 10th. This is described as the “definitive edition” of Captain Titus and the Ultramarine battle with the Orc Horde. Space Marine was first published by THQ in 2011 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The Master Crafted Edition was developed by SneakyBox and comes with remastered audio, including 4K resolution, modernized controls, interface overhauls, improved character models, and over 100 new audio lines for Orcs.
Meanwhile, Space Marine 2 teased Siege, the game’s hotly anticipated Horde mode. Announced on June 26th, Passthecontroller confirmed through an exclusive interview with Tim Willits, chief creative officer of developer Saber Interactive, that Dreadnought shown in the trailer is part of the Siege gameplay. It is brother Valtos, a powerful redemptor dreadnought from Ultramarine’s second company. The player cannot pilot it, but they can call him enhancement throughout the siege game. Fatshark’s Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will obtain a new paid arbitration class DLC on June 23rd.
Warhammer Skulls’ biggest announcement had to be the return of The Dawn of War franchise. Relic Entertainment has announced Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Definitive Edition. This is scheduled to be released on PCs in the second half of 2025. Passthecontroller conducted an exclusive interview with developer Relic Entertainment.
After being announced on the Warhammer Skulls broadcast last year, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II received another major reveal this year featuring the Votann league.
Creative Assembly revealed the next DLC for Total War: Warhammer III, Tides of Torment. We also got to see the next legendary master coming this summer.
Talisman Digital 5th Edition – Talisman Alliances: Fate Beckons has been announced as a new cooperative DLC based on the board game expansion. The following trailer.
The popular strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector has revealed a new major-free update that includes Crusade Game Mode, Dominions and Orks Boyz with Choppa.
Fatshark’s Warhammer: Vermintide 2 will be available in Game Pass as part of Skulls, but the third level of Pest Dream has been released as a free update.
The new season of Blood Bowl 3 will be released on June 10th. The Khorne team was announced as part of the event.
Mobile turn-based strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus is getting a new Faccine, which is Adeptus Customs.
The Emperor’s Children are the new faction coming to Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge (good timing given the recent release of the new codex for The Traitor Legion).
Warhammer 40,000: Gladius has a new unit DLC via the Onslaught Pack. The base game will be available for steam in “Free 2 Keep” during Skull Week. Meanwhile, pre-registration is open for Warhammer 40,000: Warhammer 40,000: Warhammer 40,000, a brand new grand strategy mobile game released in late 2025.
Daemon Primarch Angron has been released as the next Commander-in-Chief card on the Warhammer Combat card.
The new Warhammer 40,000 in-game stickers based on Tabletop decals are available on Counter Strike 2 on Steam.
And finally, the eight Warhammer video games will be part of the free-to-play Days promotion on Xbox from May 22nd to 26th, including Rogue Trader, Darktide, Mechanicus, Chaos Gate: Daemon Hunters, Shootas, Blood & Teef and more.
