Mynd Immersive, Immersive Healthcare Provider, has announced that it will expand its XR service to 150 senior living communities across the United States.
The company says the recent milestones represent the biggest developments in XR therapy in the history of senior care, and hopes to advance treatment options across physical therapy, occupation and speech therapy.
Founded in 2016 and operated in the US, Canada and Australia, the Texas-based company has developed over 200 XR experiences that support the HTC Vive Flow, a lightweight, compact VR headset released by HTC in 2021.
“We’re looking forward to seeing you in the future,” said Chris Brickler, co-founder and CEO of Mynd Immersive. “Today, we have Mynd become an important part of healthcare delivery, promoting the real-world benefits of functional therapy, cognitive engagement and staff training.”
Mynd Immersive is partnering with Select Rehabilitation, a US-based contract therapy company, to support the cognitive, physical, emotional and mental well-being of elders using its platform.
“The partnership with MyND will strengthen therapists’ involvement in meaningful motivational experiences supporting actual clinical outcomes,” said Anna Wolfe, CEO of Select Rehabilitation. “We use these tools to create today’s therapy rooms. Today’s therapists can work on improving movement, strength building, walking training, spatial awareness, and activities of daily life (ADL) through an immersive environment that makes rehabilitation effective and enjoyable.”
The company says it deploys its Mynd platform and training staff to an average of 25 communities. That 150 community expansion is set to bring XR therapy to more than 45,000 residents.
