Valve’s MOBA hero shooter Deadlock is in an invitation-only test phase as the company continues to develop and iterate. However, the recent livestream confusion appears to have revealed the existence of even more exclusive playtests, with invisible characters and redesigns.
The leaks swirled from live streams hosted by top deadlock players, and reportedly appeared to open the wrong deadlock builds in the stream. (Thanks, Eurogamer.)
The roster, seen and captured by the viewers, shows some new faces like the old school doorman, the glasses-wearing bookworm, and the Gothic Vamparebat, as well as the visual changes of characters like Ivy. After realising the error, the streamer was quickly closed, but at this point we can’t really kick the beans out.
This leak is still quite refreshing, but no other information is circulating yet. Deadlock is not someone who doesn’t know about leaks. This is because its own existence and content was subject to many leaks. Also, the presence of test builds to tinker with more players in future updates is not new, but it’s a bit odd for Deadlock, and is still an early state with only invitations.
The reaction appears to be mixed, as some of the R/Deadlockthegame subreddit express their dissatisfaction with the feeling they are already in playtests. Even with more public builds, Deadlock saw the change in size and size and even cut the full lane from the game. Valve has used Hero Labs mode in the past to allow players to further test new heroes, but this appears to be an additional method to further test with the selected crowd.
Despite being an invitation only, Deadlock has gained an astonishing number of players and received some notifications from fans of both the shooter and MOBA. The new game from Valve is already worth noting, but its strange developments and continued status as an invitation-only game add to its mystique. Now, it appears there’s another, even more exclusive build for players to guess.
But as Reddit users have pointed out, it’s important to keep real news in mind.
