  • Tony Hawk wants players to discover new music while playing Pro Skater 3+4

summary

  • Tony Hawk hopes players will discover new music on Pro Skater 3+4 by adding new tracks by the same artist.
  • Several fan favorite tracks have been swapped in upcoming games to inject freshness and enhance the discovery experience.
  • The game will feature cross-platform online multiplayer, scheduled to be released on July 11th, a new park, improved goals, and enhanced controls.

Licensed music is nothing new to video games, but in games like Tony Hoe’s Pro Skater 3+4, the soundtrack is even more pronounced when you consider how music blends with skater culture.

Just a few days ago, Activision revealed the official soundtrack for the upcoming re-release of the skating game. Fans quickly noticed how old favorites were removed to add new songs. It’s not Activision, which tries to avoid paying music licensing fees and more, since Tony Hawk himself changed it.

If you notice that your fan favorite track is missing, that’s because Tony Hawk decides to inject new music into the game. Commenting on Instagram (via VGC), Hawl said, “It was my choice to choose a few different songs by the same artist featured on the THPS3+4 OST. Discovery is half the fun and a big reason why these soundtracks resonate in the first place.

I’m curious to see which music tracks are back and which are new. This is the fault:

New Truck:

  • Vince Staples – Nofnof
  • Speed of Light – Kills the atmosphere
  • 21 children – Rooney Bin
  • Fontaine DC – Boy of Better Land
  • 100 GECS – Hollywood Baby
  • …And more coming!

Return the track:

  • Iron Maiden – 2 minutes to midnight
  • Run-DMC – My Adidas
  • Toy Doll – She goes to Finos
  • Faction – Skate & Destruction
  • JFA – Beach Blanket Bongout
  • …and many more classics are back!
