Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is not even uniform by chance yet, but legendary skateboard icon Tony Hawk is the game for Activision to release a remaster of another beloved Tony Hawk title.
But even if he was about to do it, Tony Hawk has no final say when another skateboarding game is remastered.
Tony Hawk campaigns for more remasters
If Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 game set comes out this July, will you see Tony Hawk’s Underground (Thug) become the next game set? Apparently, that’s not yet certain. Speaking to Screenland, Tony Hawk was asked if he had plans to go with the remaster in the next line at Tony Hawk Underground.
Tony Hawk said, “I’ve always had a desire. That’s not up to me in general. I’ll campaign as much as I can, but I work with a company that’s far more clever than I do.” Hawk revealed that Tony Hawk Underground Remastered is not being discussed given that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 hasn’t been released yet.
Activision hasn’t said anything, but if the Thps 3+4 sells well, there’s a good chance that you’ll see Tony Hawk Underground remastered. In other words, it doesn’t make much sense to release a remaster of a series where Activision doesn’t sell well, right?
Tony Hawk Underground was released in October 2003 for the PS2, Xbox and GameCube consoles. It was a big step away from the previous Tony Hawk Games, as it allowed players to create custom characters that they could play like the game’s story mode.
If Activision is driving the release of Thug Remaster, expect publishers to take advantage of game customizations of microtransaction elements. This is what you’d expect from all sports video games these days.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 will skate for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Switch and PC on July 11th.
