As ModDers reports that they have unlocked secret multiplayer modes with Star Blades, the player who first posted a split screen gameplay video that has gone viral across social media reported that it’s not exactly what it looks like.

“I woke up to everyone and posted clips that I shared completely out of context and inconsistently. I avoided tweeting these,” Phantomsomnus wrote on X/Twitter. Phantomsomnus explained, “Split screen mode is built into an unrealistic engine, and (Stellar Blade Developer) Shift Up-Shifted didn’t create it.”
This is why Phantomsomnus loaded the second eve into the game. Split screen multiplayer for video was not developed by Shift Up, but was created by PhantomsomNus using native local multiplayer support from Unreal Engine. “The reason I set up a split screen was to see if I could make any of it work, but as you can see, I failed,” Phantomsomnus explained in a Reddit post.
