The Witcher 3 is Getting One Last Patch This Year, Bringing Cross-Platform Mods to Consoles

CD Projekt Red has announced that it will close its 10-year post-launch support for the critically acclaimed RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt In the last update. Announcing through a post on social media platform X, the studio said the update will come to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, bringing cross-platform mod support.

MOD support is available on the PC version The Witcher 3 For a while, this update will allow CD Projekt Red to create and share mods across the various platforms available to players. It is worth noting that this update will not reach the game’s Nintendo Switch version. CD Projekt Red has not yet been confirmed when this update is released. They simply say it will be “late the year.”

In the official website’s FAQ, the studio also confirms that players can upload and download mods to the platform (mod.io) they are using. However, players will need to create a mod.io account connected to their CD Projekt Red account to access the cross-platform mod. Using Mod.io does not prevent PC players from sticking to Nexus Mods and other modded platforms.

“When celebrating the 10th anniversary The Witcher 3: Wild Huntwe look forward to sharing some good news for players and modders,” the studio wrote on its official website. “We’ll be releasing another patch later this year. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This update introduces Cross-Platform Mod support via PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/s.

“Create, share and enjoy mods making it easier and more accessible because PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X | S players can share the mod ecosystem.”

Since its release in 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt It has proven to be a very successful game for CD Projekt Red. During its recent revenue report, the studio has reported more than 50 million copies. The Witcher 3 It’s been on sale so far. This includes the release platform PC, PS4, Xbox One copy, and the platforms where the game was later acquired (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch).
