All major studios and publishers revealed their biggest announcements through many summer showcases. But Passthecontroller’s summer games continue! We’ve already been running through the biggest and best trailers of the season, but now we’re on the bigger front. Which games will excite us the most and count down a few days until it is finally released?
That’s why we’re here today, highlighting the most anticipated games and determining which games we’re hyped the most. Our top picks were chosen from the pool, including all the show shows we’ve seen. We also considered the enthusiasm you, as a reader and viewer, presented about many newly announced titles. So we compared comments and trailer view counts to our own personal excitement.
But before we reach the top pick, let’s take a look back at some of the other great games we’ve seen over the past few weeks. Here are some of our other favorites:
5. Ninja Gaiden 4
Soulslikes may have dominated action RPGs for the last decade, but thanks to games like Ninja Gaiden 4, the hack and slash renaissance is in full swing.
The high-speed action was jumping on the style scene thanks to a stylish new trailer, but the practice in the 25-minute game wanted us to do more. Of course, if you have the dexterity to interact with enemies and pull away the correct combo, you’ll feel super-fast and super-full. Luckily, Ninja Gaiden 4 will be coming out on all platforms on October 21, 2025, so you don’t have to wait too long.
4. Silent Hill Remake

At the end of Konami’s press start livestream, it may have been merely logos and nostalgic music, but there is an announcement that the Blueber team of developers of Silent Hill 2 remake will work on the original Silent Hill as it will be enough to send all the spinning heads in their next collaboration with Konami.
The first Silent Hill kicked off one of the most horrifyingly beloved video game franchises in history, but was ahead of its time in many ways announced in 1998, but it certainly doesn’t keep up with the time. The remake, made with the same attention and considerations that Bloober gave to the sequel, is certainly an exciting prospect.
3. Marvel Tokon: Battle with the Soul

Move Marvel vs. Capcom aside. There is a new superhero fighting game in town. A big surprise about PlayStation’s latest playing situation was ARC System Works’ “Marvel Tokon.” This is a fighting game of 4V4 tag teams that Marvel heroes such as Iron Man and Captain America have been reimagined through a Japanese lens. ARC System Works has already been praised for its visually impressive, deeply competitive fighting games like Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball Fighters, but Marveltocon has been able to bring this beloved but niche developer to new heights thanks to the power of Disney. The details and depth of the mechanics on display in the long-term, obvious public display means that Marbertocon will only pass the excitement of another superhero fighting game announced in the summer of the game – Invincible Vs. Plus, Fighting Soul is 4V4 instead of 3V3. So, the extra couple heroes help to raise our expectations even further.
2.007 First Light

IO Interactive has finally announced its long-awaited 007 game. – It’s fun like hell. The developer’s usual proper assassin, Agent 47, may be a heartless murder machine, but it seems that 007 Young James Bond is spending his lifetime as if he’s on his way to become one of the world’s most famous secret agents (certainly, it’s like a contradiction).
The trailer has everything you need for a great James Bond game, including exotic locales, sports cars, laser wrist watches, a bit of light flirting, lots of explosions. It is paired with knowledge that IOI says they need to expect the same level of freedom available in Hitman: The World of Assassination Trilogy and 007 First Light are one of the games we can’t wait for (and in the 2026 release window, this will be the first big bond outing since Daniel Craig bowed). Perhaps the only reason it’s not the most anticipated game at our event is that we have sadly not had the opportunity to play it yet, and we can’t speak clearly about its quality. Cross your fingers for Gamescom 2025…
So, that’s four obvious things in different sizes that we’re being hyped for future games. But the big ones – our most anticipated games – are something that comes soon and is something that we can already play. And based on how much we love its predecessor, we hope it will continue the legacy of the series and offer one of the best survival horror experiences of a generation. The most anticipated game from the summer of the game is…
1. Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom delivered epic bait and switch during the summer 2025 Game Fest. After all, I think the fear of delayed jumps is part of the Resi recipe.
The next mainline entry in the popular survival horror franchise will star Grace Ashcroft, a new hero who has a close relationship with characters from the forgotten Resident Evil game. But even more exciting, Capcom revealed that Resident Evil Requiem will be playable in both first person and third parties at the time of release. I got the chance to play a short preview build of Resident Evil Requiem and was impressed by the way the first person focuses on pure horror.
Grace looks like a charming new character, given her background as an FBI analyst who is more comfortable behind a computer than using a gun. This makes her (and we) even more afraid when she meets Requiem’s new stalker monster.
On top of this, Capcom’s ongoing excellent game streak means that he is extremely excited to play his next mainline RESI game when Resident Evil Requiem was released on consoles and PC on February 27, 2026.
Resident Evil Requiem is the most anticipated game since the summer of the game, but what’s yours? Please let us know in the comments below or join us tomorrow as we rank the biggest announcements on the Passthecontroller Community Tierlist.
