in Blue Princeyou will not see other people. There are no weapons, itself. You interact with the world only through your note-taking ability and your wisdom. Typically it’s a puzzle game.
And I’m playing Blue Prince You will reach the credits as it is just a puzzle game. But that’s not the whole story. What’s hidden between the after-credits and the puzzle is a timely political warning.
Throughout the game, when you come across letters and books, you will get hints of the underlying mystery that is happening in both the background and the past. A frightening email scheme with dissatisfied employees. A bold robbery at a local museum. And a heavily edited book of history.
Even a bit of in-game reading, after a hit with credits, I was able to say there is more to the story. I was hoping for more puzzles and more insight into the mystery of Mount Holly Estate, where the game plays.
I certainly didn’t expect a very timely political thriller that touched on the themes of fascism, zingoism, censorship and political violence.
To explain what I mean, I have to ruin some of the slow mysteries of the game Blue Prince. You are being warned.
(Editor’s note: Again, it contains the following: Spoilers for the second half of the game for Blue Prince. )

The first hint I came across myself was a letter of rejection to a child’s book manuscript The Red Prince. You learn from the scribbled ideas on the page that the book’s conclusion was “too political” and that the ending of the book had to be changed.
Then, a little later, and with a little work, I found two versions of the history book. The first version I read was heavily edited and told the story of a drunken ruler who no one likes. Yes, I found out that some sections were covered, but the remaining words were drawing all the pictures I needed.

It wasn’t later that I found an unedited version and was able to see what was edited. Deleting selected words and censoring these lines changed completely the (high) story. What was taught in school (you can find classrooms in space) and what actually happened was completely different.

The game conspired to cover up just by showing the first edited version. I totally believed that the drunken ruler who no one liked was the villain of the story. Why am I not? The history book told me that.
Instead of the story of a justly evicted drunk, true history is immersed in the war of the class, with nobles supporting the coup. And by carefully editing history books, you change the name of the kingdom and erase the old ones. In the end, “history is written by the winner.” (It doesn’t seem to be a coincidence that one of the kingdoms involved in the coup is named “nuance.”

Throughout the game, the main character’s mother is also the author of its beloved child – a prominent absenteeism. Her book appears, but she has been missing for years and is estimated to be dead. Most of the game suggests that she fled the country to escape the government fools, but never completely says it.
That particular mystery reaches its peak at a truly shocking moment. meanwhile Blue Prince It provided a lot of history in the past about political violence (in-game) but that wasn’t necessarily concrete as of today. There were references to the family fleeing after the coup, but it clearly couldn’t have happened now.
Clearly, that is, until I arrive at the Safe House (through a proper elaborate puzzle).

Inside, I found a detailed map of the escape route. And lots of guns.
This is a harsh reality check in the game about losing yourself in puzzles and mystery. And if you continue to be involved, Blue Prince It serves as a reminder that everything that has warnings can still happen past the credits.
It’s not bad to “just” a little indie puzzle game.

Why is it important? The goal of Blue Prince It’s as easy as paradoxical. Find the 46th room in a 45-room house. Bring a notepad and a pen. Create a screen capture folder to spam F12. And you’ll definitely find friends to play with you, so someone should understand what you’re doing.
