Nintendo Switch 2 Direct Stream suffered from technical issues at the most inappropriate time for developers Astrona. Near the end of Wednesday’s presentation, the trailer for their new game debuted on the stream at a time when many viewers were stuck seeing glitchy confusion.
“Hey, did you eat the trailer completely because you think one of the Nintendo’s main switches is technically difficult?” Lotus Dwyer, social media manager for System ERA Softworks, wrote on Bluesky.
New games are called Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditionsand if things were right, they could have realised almost immediately the similarities with previous games in the studio. It’s a collaborative game with colorful planets filled with strange creatures and plant life. The blueski post with a trailer describes it as a game about “the joy of discovery and friendship born from the evolving and collaborative experiences.”
The Steam page explains that each planet has a different purpose that can only be completed by using the team’s toolset. During the mission, you will return to the “continuously evolving space station” known as the ESS Starseeker, where you will obtain upgrades and plan your next expedition.
System ERA Softworks says Starseeker It will be done in Astrona The universe, but not a direct sequel. Astrona It will continue to be updated “for years to come.”
Starseeker It will be released in 2026 on Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. You can sign up to playtest early versions of future games via the official Discord server.
