One of the surprising releases at Sony’s latest play digital event is Grasshopper Manufacture’s new action game IP, Romeo, is the Dead Man.
Aside from the strange title choices, the game marks the studio’s first all-new release in five years, directed by Goichi “Suda51” Suda.
The trailer reveals the premise of the game. This includes time travel and many bloody actions.
Romeo is a dead man and appears to continue the unique action of Grasshopper
A press release sent the game “super bloody action, crazy twists and turns into a player’s mind heart, and the confusion of old school gimmicks – everything is about five seconds away from dying. The hero Romeo Starr Garzer becomes “Dead Man” and the dying Dude ends this drought. First new intellectual property over the years! ”
The main character of the game is Romeo Stargazer, a special agent in the FBI spacetime covered in masks and outfits known as “Dead Gear.” Grasshopper Manufacture states, “After a bit of a mess after the continuum of space-time generated by the genius scientist has been crushed, Romeo has to hunt down the most whining fugitives in the universe.
Players can exchange between guns and swords, or even use the enemy’s own powers.
Of course, you wouldn’t be able to have Romeo without Juliet. This is the name of our hero’s girlfriend and is missing. I somehow think this is more than a simple maiden distress story, given the ready-to-use thinking of Suda51.
Given the types of actions in the Suda51, this title requires an instant player base. Especially for those who are craving more heroes-style gameplay. Hopefully more details and gameplay emerges until it’s released.
Roma is scheduled to be released in 2026 on the PS5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC.
