Haven Studios has yet to release Sony’s first game, but its founder Jade Raymond reportedly has already left the company. Haven is currently working on the online multiplayer game FairGame$.
This report comes from the trustworthy Jason Schreier of Bloomberg (Paywalled) and draws a tough picture of FairGame $ based on internal communication.
Raymond leaves studs even before Fair Game $ gets its release date
The report states that Playstaton’s leadership did not give Raymond a reason to leave the company to the staff at Haven Studios. However, Raymond’s sudden exit occurs a few weeks after the external playtest of FairGame $. Some of Haven’s developers were worried about how the game was received and its progress, according to people with knowledge of what was going on.
A PlayStation spokesman confirmed Raymond’s departure and said, “Jade Raymond was an incredible partner and visionary force in establishing Haven Studios. We are deeply grateful for her leadership and contributions.
The spokesman added that PlayStation is working to support Haven Studios and is excited to continue the journey with new co-study heads Marie-Eve Danis and Pierre-François Sapinski.
FairGame $ was announced in 2023 and is one of the few live service titles known by Sony during development. Sony has cancelled two live service projects, Bend Studio (Days Gone) and Bluepoint Games (Demon’s Souls Remake), following the disastrous release of Concord, which saw the servers go down after just two weeks of release.
The latest news from FairGame $, which surfaced earlier this year, reportedly delayed the title from its fall 2025 release. I haven’t seen anything about it in a long time, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened to Concord.
Jade Raymond was a producer of Assassin’s Creed and was the executive producer of Assassin’s Creed 2 and AC: Bloodlines and Splinter Cell: BlackList. The last game Raymond released was a powerful quest for epic loot in 2015, when she took on the role of executive producer at Ubisoft Montreal. Raymond then jumped to EA as SVP Group General Manager before starting Haven Studios in 2021.
