With Stellar Blade’s PC debut scheduled for next month, gamers are pleased to be able to play on another PS5-only platform. But some of that enthusiasm is somewhat damp with news that the game will be locked into the region.
The game is not only locked into the region, but it even introduces Denuvo for anti-naval measures.
Developer explained Star Blade PC DRM and Performance
On Twitter/X, developer Shift Up has acknowledged concerns about Denuvo and Region locking.
-
We have a thorough discussion with publishers about local lock issues and do our best to resolve most of them as soon as possible.
-
As shown in the test chart below, DRM is difficult to adjust to maintain the same average frame rate, and in some cases there are even higher minimum frames. MODs are fully supported without restrictions
-
The PSN is completely optional and is never needed.
-
Both the PC and PS5 versions provide the same content. Ensure that early buyers will not be at a disadvantage through future updates.
Shift Up also states that the star blades perform well on PCs with Denuvo on. Honestly, this is the first time I’ve made this claim. The following table for Shift Up lists Stellar Blade performance with or without “protected”.

I’m assuming that players will analyze this information whether this information is a real deal or not once the game is over. It’s interesting to see if Denubo is given to be famous for having a negative impact on game performance.
Stellar Blade hit PC on June 11th, revealing PC requirements and detailed information.
The PC version is not a straight port as it has been confirmed to have new bosses, new outfits and of course PC graphical extensions. The new content will be released as a free title update for the game owner, so PS5 players will not be excluded from the party either.
