Late last year, Sightful announced that it would cancel a unique laptop with built-in AR glasses and instead pivot to build a version of the AR workspace software for Windows. The company has now released SpaceTop for Windows. This allows you to turn your environment into a private virtual display for productivity on the go.
Like previous hardware, SpaceTop works with XREAL AR glasses, but the new subscription-based apps target a much broader range of AI PCS, including Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus, Acer and the latest hardware from Microsoft.
Previously, the company worked on its own “headless” laptop running an Android-based operating system called Spaceos. However, Sightful, announced in October 2024, had cancelled and refunded customers for SpaceTop G1 AR workspace devices.
At the time, Sightful said that pivots were the amount that could increase processing power and battery efficiency when running AR applications.
Now, Sightful has released its own SpaceTop bundle for $899, including XReal Air 2 Ultra AR Glasses (prices regularly at $699) and a 12-month SpaceTop subscription (renewed for $200).
Additionally, Sightful sells optional optical lenses at an additional cost, including a $50 prescription single vision lens insert and a $150 prescription Progressive-Vision lens insert.
Recommended laptops include the Dell XPS Core Ultra 7 (32GB), HP EliteBook, Lenovo Yoga Slim, Asus Zenbook, Acer Swift Go 14, and Microsoft Surface Pro for Business (Ultra 7), but this list is not exhaustive as the visual notes are devices that grow Intel Core core core 7/9 processors.
The main features are:
- Seamless Access to Popular Apps: SpaceTop works with consumer and business apps
Everyday power productivity for Windows users - Press, slide and rotate workspace with intuitive keystrokes
- Travel mode to keep your workspace on the go on a plane, train, coffee shop, Ubering or sofa
