Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 was a runaway success, but it’s important to remember where Li started during Demetrian Li Titus.
Today at the Warhammer Skulls Showcase, the upcoming siege mode of Space Marine 2 is revealed, while Games Workshop unveiled Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition.
It will be available on PC via Steam and Gog, with Xbox Series X | S now available, and the game pass on the ongoing release. There is also cross-play between different versions of the game’s 8v8 multiplayer.
The new release also includes all the DLC for the original game, as well as the currently available anniversary edition.
This game returns to the world of Greia’s Forge, down the power of chaos led by Grimskull’s Orcs and the master of the magician Nemerus.
Improved graphics and modernized controls
The original Space Marine was about 14 years ago and first launched on the PS3 and Xbox 360, so it clearly has some older-fashioned controls and user interface updates.
Master Crafted Edition brings these exact things to the game and promises to update it for modern audiences who have only experienced the Titus adventures through the much more recent sequels of the game.
It is difficult to tell exactly how the controls have been changed from the trailer, but it already shows a radial menu of weapon selection, a major change in pace from the original. Here, I remember that you need to tweak the key bindings and play the way you expect from a modern third-person shooter.
Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition also supports 4K resolution for PC and Series X, as well as updated character models, improved textures and remastered audio.
Between this new version of the original Space Marine, the continued support of Space Marine 2, and the promise of future Space Marine 3, it’s more clear than ever that if you choose to engage children from Warhammer 40,000 spaces with the Warhammer 40,000 universes, the game workshop will never get bored of pushing fans.
