In the latest Skate Development Update blog, the developers have updated us with insider playtests and published a Q&A that confirmed that skates cannot be played offline.
Skates require a live connection at all times. Because it’s alive, multiplayer sandbox says developers are developers
In the Q&A, one of the questions was asked if skating had an offline mode.
The full answer for the full circle is “Simple Answer: Games and Cities are always online and designed to be a massive multiplayer skateboard sandbox that is constantly evolving, in our playtests.”
There’s no word on when Insider PlayTest will be released, but the developers have shared that they’ve invited over 200K players to PlayTest so far. They plan to send another big invitation in July. This is for consoles and PC only.
Some of the data the developer team shared as part of the highlights of their insider playtest:

-
Longest grind (so far) – over 200 meters! It’s about 15 school buses!

There’s some good news for skate fans as Full Circle repeatedly kept the game launching with access earlier this year.
The studio said, “Yes! We plan to access and launch early later this year. We have an ambitious vision for skating: There is a constantly evolving skateboard sandbox that expands over time, along with feedback from players living in Sanvantam.
There’s no word on when that will happen, but don’t expect it right away, given that the game hasn’t run an open beta yet.
Full Circle’s Skate is the next game in the EA Skateboard Sim franchise and is being developed as a free-to-play game for consoles and PCs.
