Possible major announcements regarding PS5 games and releases.
The final play state that aired last month was entirely focused on Borderlands 4, but if you want to know what Sony has for PS5 gamers beyond 2025, you might get the news right away.
New rumors are on the rise and it comes from an unreliable source that guarantees sharing, as I don’t think I’m the only PlayStation gamer interested in what Sony has on their sleeves.
A PlayStation event will take place this June
The news comes from Jeff Grubb in the latest game, Mess Mornings Episode. In the news, the trusty leaker said there was something about PlayStation related to this June, but it’s not clear whether it’s playing or something even bigger.
Grubb said, “Someone commented on Resetera —-Natedrake — who is the person you can trust, and he says he hasn’t heard anything from Sony this year about the May event. I’m not either, but that’s because something is going on in June – it’s because they’re doing something in June. They’re doing something in June. The play probably sounds like they’re settling into a play state.
Grubb followed what he said on his podcast on Twitter, saying, “It’s the PlayStation event in June. This is the whole thing I can see. There’s no specific date. I don’t know if it’s a play state or a big boy showcase, but I’m leaning towards a play state.”
He added, “That’s it. Any other things people add is my own speculation.”
As you can see, Grubb is confident that the Playstaton event will be held this June. It could be a play state specializing in one game, the future lineup of the PS5, or it could become a massive showcase. I certainly don’t know. June is usually very likely to host the show when gaming companies announce upcoming games via Summer Game Fest (on E3 in advance, held in June).
The final playing state focused on this year’s PS5 games was held in February of this year. If you missed it, we have a summary of all the major announcements in one place. It was revealed that the biggest game was Housemarque’s Saros. It is scheduled to be released on the PS5 in 2026.
If there’s a show in June, is it probably where Sony announces the release date that confirmed the PS5 port on the Hellblade 2? I’m just guessing it here, but that’s great for the show, right?
Just like the unofficial ones, this will be treated with salt grains unless it is officially announced by Sony. That being said, Grubb is pretty reliable, so you’ll see the PlayStation event being announced soon.
