Sony usually adds games to the PlayStation Store, but sometimes removes them from the PSN. It’s not certain how many games have been removed from the digital storefront, but I can imagine that there aren’t many.
This is why I was surprised by this recent development. Sony has removed the PS4 games from the PSN store without announcements or warnings. This is not an old indie game either.
Sony removes PS4 games on PSN without explanation
The game we’re referring to is the Sniper Elite 3, which was pulled out from the PlayStation Store without an announcement by Sony or its developer Rebellion. This means that if you want to play the game, you will need to track your physical copy.
The Sniper Elite 3 was released in 2014 and has earned quite positive reviews among critics. Its developer, Rebellion Developments, has since released first-person action game Atomfall with high critical praise.
Despite the success of Atomfall, the Rebellion is mostly known for its Sniper Elite franchise. Since Sniper Elite 3, Rebellion has released the latest entries for Sniper Elite 4, Sniper Elite 5 and the franchise’s latest entry, Sniper Elite Resistance. This was fired in January 2025. Same as previous franchise entries. It’s new to the franchise. It is generally highly recommended to crave tactical spy fixes related to classic metal gear. ”
Sniper Elite 3 was removed from Xbox StoreFront in 2023 without explanation. If Rebellion or Sony provides a description of the game’s removal, update the story with information.
