- People skip Sony and partners to develop games under Sony’s IP, raising the excitement of fans.
- The game “Project Delta” could potentially be connected to one of Sony’s dormant IPS, perhaps SoCom.
- It is possible that Project Delta will not be released on the PS5, indicating a potential fire for the PS6.
Of all Sony game cancellations this year, there’s finally some good news. The people behind games like Bulestorm, Autoriders and Gears of War: Judgement have announced that they have signed an agreement with Sony Interactive Interactive Entertainment (SIE) to create a new game.
The untitled game, codename “Project Delta,” is based on Sony’s IP. The fact that Sony has a veteran shooting game studio working on one of its IPS is enough to excite fans.
Project Delta where people can fly can be tied down to one of Sony’s dormant IPs
People were able to post contracts on the company’s website, which became a machine translated from Polish to English.
The Trustees of PCF Group SA, which has offices registered with Warsaw (the “Company”), will notify us on March 13, 2025 that the Company has concluded a production agreement (the “Prototype Development Agreement”) with Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC, along with the registered office of San Mateo at “Publisher” (the “Prototype Development Agreement”) with Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC, in cooperation with the project in San Mateo, California, USA, in its project cooperation in the video game project in San Mateo, California, USA. “Product”), is based on intellectual property rights belonging to the publisher.
Production contracts state that product work can receive compensation agreed upon by the publisher for the so-called employment model, namely, work performed by the company as a developer on behalf of the publisher.
According to the production agreement, the work of the product is divided into stages (milestones). Detailed terms of cooperation between the parties regarding the implementation of subsequent stages (milestones) and payments are specified in the Appendix in the Production Agreement (milestone schedule).
The scope and provisions of a production contract are generally not substantially different from those of a production contract entered into on such projects.
The conclusion of the production contract is in line with the update of the company’s strategy, and people can skip the capital group announced by the company on January 31, 2023.
There’s nothing to show this, but the first franchise that came to my mind when I saw this was SOCOM. So, considering Fly’s portfolio shows studio shooter preferences, SoCom seems like a logical choice given that Sony turned down the pitch for the fourth resistance game and that the Killzone franchise was developed internally by Guerrilla Games.
There are magazines that have been forgotten for a long time, but I don’t think Sony would want to bring it back as much as it is as beloved as the Socom series.
The last SOCOM game released was SOCOM 4 for the PS3 in 2011. Unfortunately, it didn’t work with critics and fans. Soon, in 2014, a multiplayer server was pulled and quickly disappeared. I haven’t heard anything about the franchise since.
We may be seeing the light of day for years away from the game as people can fly just by signing an agreement with Sony this month. You wouldn’t be surprised if Project Delta skips the PS5 and releases it on the PS6.
People aren’t just working on the game as the studio is also working with the coalition of Gears of War: E-Day, the latest entry in the franchise announced last year.
If it’s not SOCOM, what do you want the Project Delta to be? Is that another entry in the Warhawk series? Perhaps Sony has restarted its resistance franchise to PCF? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
