Elden Ring Nightreign is on. Players are already diving into changing lands to fight Night Lords. However, if they warmed up a bit with the original Elden ring, you may find that they are turning a bit around with some control changes.
Eldenling’s controls have been made in order to accommodate new abilities or simply move things a little. Some of these are only for newer or updated versions of the old tool. In particular, one seems to cause at least a bit of confusion: the flask.
With FromSoftware’s Souls Games and Elden Ring, “Flask” is the mainstay of the kit. A refillable potion holder that serves as the main source of healing in combat. Flasks are usually one of several consumables and cycle them and use them during combat. In the Eldenling Night League, flasks are a static element. By default, press the left face button (x or square depending on your controller) to make it the “Items Used” option on the D-pad.
Well, it appears that some people are already reporting some muscle confusion. It’s a bit fun to see players playing Eldenling warm up for Night Turin or just happen to line up like that, relearning muscle memory thanks to changes.
Along the flask there is a Nightrign-specific supersprint mapped to the L3. Although there are no reliable horse torrents in Nightrign, they instead gave players an incredibly fast sprint option. Wrinkles also have a sprint option from the traditional way of holding the dodge button. And, as one player points out, they continue to default to the original Elden Ring Sprint, not the new Elden Ring Sprint.
But the really strange change is that it seems there is no way to squat now. I started Eldenling’s nightreign myself just to check. I was clicking on the left bar on the controller, but by default the options seem to have been ejected completely, rather than moving them. Certainly, Elden Ring Nightreign seems to be about moving faster than creeping up and wiping out enemies.
Other players also report that the default mouse and keyboard controls also felt strange compared to the original Eldenling. Certainly, this is not the first time Software has shifted its control scheme. All souls and soul-like things have some variation, especially in games like Bloodborne.
Ultimately, the controls are again bindable, allowing you to fit comfortably in your hands as you wish. You might spend some time shooting this article as a PSA and getting yourself in the control scheme of Elden Ring Nightrign and tweaking it before heading towards your first venture. And they will not spare sympathy for players who accidentally keep chasing Estas along the way. We were all there.
