Silent Hill f Gets Gruesome New Details in ESRB Rating and Content Warnings

New details emerge about what’s in place for the horror waiting within Silent Hill F, revealing developer Neobird Entertainment maintains the tone of the series.

caveat! The description below contains some horrifying details about the contents of Silent Hill F.

Konami aired its latest Silent Hill Transmission Broadcast last week, sharing details about the upcoming Silent Hill F. Developed by Neobaldo, set in a mountain town in Japan in the 1960s, and written by the author of Higurashi and Sea Cat, Silent Hill F appears to be an interesting new venture in the horror series.

However, the broadcast didn’t really include the gameplay method. Instead, fans are pondering Silent Hill F’s content warnings and ESRB ratings. Both are live and offer a surprising detailed explanation of the horror awaiting in the town of Shrimpoogaoka.

On the ESRB site, Silent Hill F received over 17 mature ratings for “blood and gore, intense violence, partial nude”. While not so badly surprising in itself, it’s an evaluation summary that provides some details.

“This is a survival horror action game in a mountain town in Japan in the 1960s, in which players assume the role of students facing supernatural entities. From a third perspective, players explore the town, solve puzzles, interact with characters, and fight enemy creatures (e.g. humanoid monsters, mutants, mythical creations).

“The player uses axis, clover, knife and spear to protect and kill enemy creatures in melee style combat. As characters are attacked, blood collection effects often occur. Some areas depict large blood stains on the environment and corpses.

“The cutscenes depict Gore and more violent acts of violence at times. Characters burned alive in cages, women branded with hot iron, enthusiasts and signs depicted on the assortment of fantastic celebrations/ceremonies depicting characters depicting their own arms, characters depicting the faces of characters depicting the faces of characters during rituals, chest.

His faces are torn apart, his hot irons and his skilled character certainly draws a terrifying picture. Silent Hill F can be pretty bad, even by Silent Hill standards. After all, the first game in the series won Cero:Z in Japan and is rated 18 and above. Others usually earned Cero:C or Cero:D. This is 15+ and 17+, respectively.

Silent Hill F may also deal with some heavy topics and images. To do this, you can see the game’s content warnings that appear on both the official website and the Steam Store page.

“The game includes depictions of gender discrimination, child abuse, bullying, drug-inducing hallucinations, torture and graphic violence. The game was set in Japan in the 1960s and includes depictions based on the customs and culture of the era.

Between actual physical fear and commitment to these kinds of themes, Silent Hill F certainly seems appealing to the kind of material you would expect from Silent Hill. For horror fans, that’s a good sign that’s good.

The Silent Hill F has no release date at this time, but it certainly suggests that it’s not too far to have an ESRB rating. Currently, the PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC are targeting the target at startup.
