Every big success with every Nintendo release has a strange ball that will confuse everyone. Casual party games sold millions of copies, but by and large the world seems to have forgotten about Nintendo’s comprehensive experiment. With the exception of at least two people, I recently looked for records of opposition to the very people who made the game.
Gamers with the username Elphylin tell passthecontroller that they first purchased the game when it was released and were in high school. It has become a favorite for introducing people to video games, regardless of their background.
“I’m a huge fan of Nintendo’s deeper tech games. 1-2 SwitchI can pull someone out of the street and they might beat me with a quick draw,” says Elphylin. 1-2 Switch It became a bit running to university that helped them develop social life.
“To be honest, when you get to know someone, it’s honestly a good icebreaker,” Elphylin says. Half of the game states that players are encouraged to maintain eye contact as they are instructed to do things like pushing their butts against each other.
One of the games included 1-2 Switch It is called plate spin. As the name suggests, players need to use Joy-Con to balance the assortment. The twist is that players can try and play around with each other in real life, but the game regularly reduces cooking even further. It’s a fun game, but it’s a tough game. In most cases, plate spin matches are not that long. This is one video from IGN in 2017, with rounds lasting just over 20 seconds. This is what the match lasts for about 10 seconds or more. Strangely enough, the plate spin includes a 2-minute timer while the event unfolds. Elphylin’s friends noticed this in 2024 and asked if they were able to reach the end of it.
“I’ve never done it and I said that no one could find them online that they’re beating it or admitting that it could be beaten,” recalls Elphylin. “At that time, my friend agreed to join me in trying this Hercules job.”
Over the course of three independent sessions, the duo reached the limits of what is an incredibly tough game. You have to keep your hands moving and so do your partner. If either fails, the timer will exit and you will not be able to see what will happen at the end. It didn’t take long for Erphyrin’s arm to start to cause pain. And the pair had to start using cushioned stools to rest the accessories.
A strategy had to be developed. It was difficult, but players noticed that the plate spin telegraphed some of its nuances to the telegraph. If you go slowly, the plate will wobble. If it’s too fast, the stick holding the plate will come out of the centre. However, it was possible to recover from speed. You can also stop moving for a few seconds. The two resorted to trying to get there as quickly as possible until the game gave a Telltail warning.
The plate was minimized every 30 seconds, so adjustments had to be made. The two had to maintain the same pace, but the spin radius gradually reduced. It’s easier than I say. It took 6 hours and plenty of pain before the two saw the timer drop to zero.

The audience screams and the game acknowledges the player’s feat before calling a draw. That may sound stupid – and that’s true – but for their credibility, it’s something that no one has ever done before. There is no online evidence of plate spin endings. This makes sense. This is because it is not usually something that would grant the glory of the game, like the Speed Running World Records in popular games. It’s a first-party game developed by Nintendo itself, but most people never played it. 1-2 Switch. If so, they probably wouldn’t have gone through all the mini-games. Elphylin says he achieved this achievement technically last year, but with the launch of the Switch 2 it immediately seemed like a good opportunity to boast about something outside of a friend’s circle.
“There was clearly a lot of effort being put into programming the mechanics of the mini-games.
“It’s a big flex to be able to say that he’s the only person who completed a first-party Nintendo game, especially a game that sold 4 million copies.”
