Joy Way, the studio behind Stride: Fate (2023) and Exocar (2024)first announced VR Action-Platformer Red flower Back in 2022, it was planned to bring bloody ninja slicing action and some high-flying parkour. The studio has just revealed Red flower On the surface, it creates a major pivot to appeal to younger users.
It’s called now Katana: Red Flower, The game abolishes incredibly tall city buildings and gritty aesthetics, and instead offers a clearly family-friendly atmosphere with Kitty’s hero and wise (and accident-prone) grandpa Kenji to help you along the way.
It is targeting the 2025 release on Quest and PSVR 2. Katana: Red Flower You can take on the role of a ninja cat, slam through enemies, deflect bullets, swing around, and swing katana. Between levels, the game offers a cozy garden where you can sharpen your blades and play with your grandpa Kenji.
The trailer still has a good slice of death in the bloody sword, but Joyway points out that this can be toggled in the settings and replaced it with a burst of flowers. Movement mechanics and enemies aren’t far from the 2022 demonstration (see below), but the art and level designs show a clear departure from the original roughness.

The studio doesn’t say much, but pivots arise in the broader changes of the quest player base. This is driven primarily by the entrance to Quest 3, the latest $300 mixed reality headset in Meta.
Meta noted in early 2025 that a wave of young players not only boosted free-to-play content on the platform, but also paid for the premium content that Meta had pointed out at the time. I’m a cat (2024) and 5 Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 (2024).
There is no release date for Katana: Red Flower But beyond “late of the year,” you can add your game to your wishlist on the Horizon store for Quest 2 or above and the PlayStation store for PSVR 2.
