Early gameplay footage from EA’s upcoming Battlefield games appears to have been leaked online after closing playtests.
As reported by Thegamer, a Twitch user named Anto_merguezz appears to have streamed footage from EA’s closed Battlefield Labs PlayTest. There are no clips of the stream on the Anto_merguezz page, but it appears someone recorded footage from the stream, and is posted online in various places that are largely circulated via Reddit.
The footage appears to confirm the “modern” setting that Vince Zampera has previously mocked, distinguishing it from other battlefield games in its historical or futuristic settings. We’ll take a decent look at some shootouts and the taste of the game’s destructible environment in the process. Fans already appear to be relatively pleased with what they are seeing. This is a good sign after the Tepid reception for Battlefield 2042 at launch.
After getting its first official release last month, I already knew a bit about what to expect from the next battlefield. The new battlefield is said to include the return of a traditional, single-player linear campaign.
Currently, EA is hoping for the next battlefield game to be released in 2026. This means it will be between April 2025 and March 2026. That means that with EA coming out, we should hope that this game will be able to showcase more capabilities in the near future. I hope it’s imminent as EA can’t leak Battlefield 6 (or whatever it’s called) for so long.
