It’s normal for Sony to release firmware updates on the PlayStation 5, but usually you’ll see a changelog of what’s changed, unless it’s a standard stability update.
The latest system patch by Sony on the PS5 has added a number of improvements, but what’s hidden beneath is another quality of life that you might not notice.
The PlayStation Store feature has been improved with the latest PS5 system update
One Redditor discovered a minor, but discovered a welcome change to the new PS5 firmware patch that has not been documented. Previously, gamers were limited to 100 games on the PSN wishlist, but after patch it increased to 188.
It’s not a groundbreaking thing, but it’s still a great improvement.
The official Changelog for that update includes:
- It’s made it easier to view details about activities.
- Activity details are now fully visible on the card.
- Potential spoilers are still hidden.
- Unicode 16.0 emojis are supported. Can be used in messages.
- When setting the limit level for the parent control Late teens, Communication and User Generated Content This will be the default limit. If you have previously set a level Late teensthe previous settings are not affected, Customization.
- Improved system software performance and stability.
- Improved message and ease of use on some screens.
If you don’t use the PSN Store wishlist feature, it’s essentially some sort of “deal watcher”. When someone adds a game to their wish list, they will be notified if the game is sold. However, you must want a specific game variant. If you want to play a base game, you will not be notified if you receive a discount on Deluxe Edition. Slots added to the system update should be a little more liberal in the game the player adds.
Last month, Sony announced a new beta program aimed at PS5 and PC players testing upcoming firmware patches, but there’s nothing about when the next PS5 system update will be released, or what’s in it.
If you want to get a PS5, one retailer will make special sales on the PS5 slim and have one giveaway. There is also a PSN Store Spring Sale, where you can get up to 70% off the game.
