PlayStation has a new internal studio spun out from Bungie

PlayStation Studios rank has grown with the addition of TeamLFG, a development studio born from Destiny 2 and marathon Developer Bungee and Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Hermen Halst announced on Wednesday. Sony Interactive Entertainment acquired Bungie in 2022 as part of a $3.6 billion deal. The studio remained multi-platform and intended to be independent from SIE. However, for the next few years, Bungee delayed the project and fired hundreds of employees. In 2024, Bungee announced that it would “deepen integration with Sony Interactive Entertainment” and that it would move 155 employees to SIE. It also meant spinning the incubation project and team that would eventually become TeamLFG.
