- Design the Phantom Blade Zero Channel Pre-Erden Ring level level and combine the elements of the three game.
- This game presents the vibe of Devil May Livers and Resident Evil.
- Unique gameplay stands out among markets oversaturated with soul-like games.
Action Game Phantom Blade Zero may look like a game like Souls, but it doesn’t follow the formulas of games like Elden Ring, Lies of P, and more.
Developer S Games says they borrow elements from the past of Software Games, but according to the game’s director, that’s not even the biggest impact on the title. Instead, they were more inspired by horror franchises that might seem like a strange choice at first.
Phantom Blade Zero uses three games as pillars of game design
According to S Games representatives, even if the game is not a soul, they channel “pre-Elden rings” from software-level design. “On the design side of Soul’s Light Level, we are definitely fans of the rings before Elden, the interconnected tight level design, and are inspired,” the person in charge said.
Furthermore, the three core pillars of the game are based on three games. Devil May Crilight Battle, Soul’s Light level design, Bio Light Light atmosphere, and the story.
Talk to Gamesradar, Phantom Blade Zero Game Director “Soulframe” Liang said, “In the past, we thought everyone was making games like Souls. So, to prove that there is a completely different combat system for core gameplay, we’re introducing these combat demonstrations. Resident Evil, but we’re fighting the blades.”
Adding to that idea, Liang said, “Whatever helps us to make pillars and make playable kung fu movies with exploration and character progression, we’ll take it and put it together, whether it’s an exploration from the soul game or a battle from this hack and slash game.
This is an interesting concept, but it stands out even more when you consider the abundant amount of soul-like games already on the market.
Isn’t the more necessary Phantom Blade Zero going to play like a soul? A practical impression from last year was, “The game is designed to be played at a faster pace than Eldenling. However, Phantom Blade Zero makes defensive combat a more accessible job for beginners. You can counter with heavy attacks (light attacks cost no stamina), but that means you don’t have to resort to convulsive blocks all the time.”
The Phantom Blade Zero has no release date yet, but it is currently scheduled to be released on PS5 and PC in 2025.
