It’s been quite a while since I heard rumors about the remake of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Now, that may be closer than ever.
The first rumors began to circulate during the Microsoft vs. FTC lawsuit. This concerns Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. At the time, many documents were leaked with sensitive data on unpublished future projects, some of which were scheduled to be released in 2022.
Rumors spread by various insiders and leakers then suggested that the remaster project would turn into a full-scale remake of the Elder Scroll Forget, delaying the launch.
When Microsoft announced the new Xbox Developer Direct in January, many fans were finally hoping to officially see this long-standing remake project and a potential remake of Gears of War Collection. But that didn’t happen.
Today, Natethehate, a trusted leaker with a track record, was asked by users if there was news about the Oblivion remake on X. He answered the question with the following message:
“This month or next month. The release could be faster than the original June goal, but it’s still working to get details on the updated release date.”
If you can believe this rumor, After that, there should be an official announcement later this month or in April..
A complete remake of forgetfulness for the coming generation
Previous rumors suggested that Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake was developed in Unreal Engine 55 It also includes gameplay changes and adjustments, including improvements to HUD, stamina system, secrets, and combat elements.
We don’t know which platform this remake will be released, but considering Microsoft’s changing approach to industry, Oblivion was a multi-platform game in the first place, Xbox and PC, PS5 and Nintendo Switch are also relatively safe to host Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remake.
At least before Bethesda ports it to the Nintendo Switch 2, the next Xbox and PlayStation console, Amazon Alexa, or even the smart fridge, and before you start!
Bethesda is also working hard to develop the Elder Scrolls VI, which was first revealed in 2018. After Starfield was released in 2023, it joined Active Production. But there was no word that I might hear more about it again whenever I would.
