The slow trickle of the Nintendo Switch 2 will continue with APACE as they wait for the official direct presentation on April 2nd. Today’s news includes potential AMIIBO support, multiple ways to charge your console, and faster download speeds.
As discovered by The Verge, according to multiple Federal Communications Commissions (FCC), the Nintendo Switch 2 includes near field communication (NFC) technology, one rechargeable USB-C port on the top of the console, and the ability to connect to a Wi-Fi 6 network (the original switch supported only by Wi-Fi 5).
Nintendo has released a total of 223 Amiibos for the Switch’s lifespan. Super Mario Maker lays levels and treasure chests The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The tears of the kingdom. With Switch 2 being reverse compatible, by including NFC, dozens of games supporting Amiibo on Switch won’t miss out on those features when upgrading players. Also, like its predecessor, Switch 2 interacts with NFC devices via the right Joy-Con.
It’s clear that the new console has great visuals and upgraded performance, but it’s like rendering useless fast download speeds with older add-ons that really improve the player experience in the long run.
