There’s no shortage of Star Wars video games, but be prepared to add another one to your pile soon. This is not a typical third-person action game.
The game’s official release will be set for the Star Wars Celebration event on April 19th, where various Star Wars events and news will be held.
Star Wars Tactics Games become reality soon
The game still titled will be the title of Star Wars, a turn-based tactical game. If you’re not familiar with this genre, think about the XCOM franchise, Final Fantasy tactics and more.
Developed by Bit Reactor based on tweets from the official Lucasfilm Games Twitter/X account. The studio has not released standalone games yet, but it helped develop titles such as XCOM, Civilization, and Gears of War. It is unclear whether the studio will develop only this new Star Wars tactical game.
Interestingly, the official Star Wars page on upcoming events mentions Bitreactor, which hosts a developer panel featuring Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm games.

Join Bitreactor and see what’s new first, along with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games Star Wars Turn-based tactical game.
Based on the wording, turn-based tactical games will become the only game discussed on the panel. Does this mean that respawn is being developed in collaboration with Bitreactors? Seeing this first, I thought it meant that Respawn would announce Chapter 3 of the Star Wars Jedi Games.
Is this Star Wars Turn-based tactical game an AAA production or is it aimed at mobile devices? If Respawn is involved in any way, this is set to the console and PC. There were a lot of first-person and third-person action games from Star Wars, but is it turn-based? Yes, not that much.
I hope that when the game is revealed on April 19th, Bitreactor will blow the blaster in our holster.
The latest high-budget Star Wars game released was Star Wars Outlaws by Ubisoft, released in August 2024. In Open Critic, the game has an average of 75 critics across over 170 reviews.
