New Game Plus Finally Coming To This Sleeper Hit Xbox RPG

We are not even midway through the calendar year. 2025 has already been a great year for RPG fans.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has been the highlight of the year so far, with many other hits behind it. Like a Dragon: Hawaii’s Pirate Yakuza is a great spinoff of the Yakuza franchise, and this year countless other RPGs such as Mandragora were fantastic hidden gems. Of course, I couldn’t forget Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

Speaking of Elder Scrolls franchise and gaming style, there is one RPG released earlier this year. Avowed was the much-anticipated Obsidian Entertainment Open-World RPG and wasn’t what I expected, but I loved it every second. The elders had itched and it certainly hurt to see me jump in and be excited to experience the game again. Well, thanks to the new roadmap, I’m waiting more when I return to the land I live in.

Obsidian Entertainment has published its roadmap for 2025

Avowed’s Spring Update, Patch 1.4, is currently live, bringing some new features and updates to the game. That’s not all, as Obsidian has also revealed a roadmap for future content updates throughout 2025.

New Game Plus is definitely a highlight and is set to start this fall, but there’s plenty to be excited about.

There are all new ones added this week as part of update 1.4

Improved map exploration
- Once most of the accessible areas of the map are explored, the fog of war becomes completely clear.
- Once you enter a city on a land map (such as North Paradis on the Dawnshore), that part of the map will be revealed.
- Increase the radius of clearing the mist as you explore.
The loot of creatures falls
- Creatures can now be defeated – and may drop loot!
New Party Camping Features
- Players can now spend time at party camp.
Improved soul pod functionality
- The Seoul Pods now dispel the illusion (with the exception of the entrance to the ring rim, you need Yatsuri’s help).
New configuration options
- Currently, the chest is optionally displayed on the minimap.
- Power attacks using bows and Arquebus can now be cancelled with new settings.
