Microsoft has solidified its plans for June, confirming the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 and The Outer Worlds 2 Direct.
Microsoft will typically host a June showcase to reveal upcoming Xbox games. The same goes for 2025. Xbox Games Showcase 2025 will be streamed live from 10am Pacific/1pm/6pm on Sunday, June 8th from UK time.

So, what does Microsoft have on its sleeve? There’s a long list of games in development, including the new Fable that was late in 2026, The Perfect Dark Reboot, Inxile’s Clockwork Revolution, Ninja Gaiden 4, Contraband, the developers of Rare’s Everwild that were recently checked out by Microsoft Gaming Boss Boss Phil Spencer, and the developers of Rare’s Everwild, to the new Fable that was late in 2026. Decay3. Psychonauts developer Double Fine is also working on a new game.
On the Activision Blizzard side, of course there will be a new Call of Duty game later this year, with various releases coming from Blizzard itself. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 will be released in July, so it could be cut.
As for Bethesda, has it finally come time to find the next one for Starfield? After all, we’re still waiting to confirm that PlayStation 5 release date. Can I watch Elder Scrolls 6?
And there is always a possibility that Microsoft will reveal new Xbox hardware. At some point in 2027, it is reportedly planned to release the next-gen Xbox console and Xbox handheld, so this year’s showcase is too early to know the details. However, Microsoft may have the opportunity to get exposed to the Xbox branded handhelds of third-party companies.
Following in the footsteps of 2023 Starfield Direct and 2024 Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct this year, Microsoft will follow Xbox Games Showcase and The Outer Worlds 2 Direct. Outer World 2 comes from Obsidian and is fresh from the release of Avod. Directly, “Take you into the walls of Obsidian Entertainment and reveal new gameplay, details and developer insights. As Outer World 2 is expected in the second half of 2025, you may get a release date during the showcase.
The Xbox Games Showcase airtime is followed by the direct Auto Worlds 2 in the local time zone.

Microsoft said the Xbox Games Showcase and Outer Worlds 2 Direct are digital only. In other words, there will be no theatrical experiences for fans or media this year. However, the livestream promised to bring fans “everything you need to know about the next thing about Xbox, no matter where you watch it in the world.”
