Apple has released an immersive concert experience from Metallica and announced that it will only land on the Apple Vision Pro this week.
The concert experience, simply called “Metalica,” captures the performance in Mexico City, which took place in the band’s second year finale of the M72 World Tour. It is set to include the classic Metallica songs “Whiplash”, “One”, and “Enter Sandman”.
The concert was shot in Apple’s immersive video format. It features 8K 3D video and spatial audio, offering viewers a close-up of one of the most expensive fan zones, the Snake Pit, which meets band members James Hetfield, Larsuulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo.
To create an immersive concert experience, Apple built a custom stage layout with 14 Apple immersive video cameras using a mix of stable cameras, cable suspend cameras, and a remote controlled camera dolly system that moves through the stage.
Vision Pro owners can jump from March 14th, but Apple says it is demonstrating the full “whip” performance to in-store customers booking a Vision Pro demo.
