Pull out the tuxedo and order a martini – shaken, unmixed – Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake EaterThe James Bond-esque opening has finally been revealed, and it is different. Konami unveiled the 3-minute clip on YouTube, showing off new footage and audio from the upcoming spy game that he is rethinking Metal Gear Solid 3Introducing the movie.
Some important visual differences include the skeletal snake from the original opening being more prominent in the remake. The additional shots of being a snake are scattered across the remake sequence, and alongside the original shots, now come to life in incredible detail.
Colonel Volgin is shown only in the OG version, but the new iteration includes more important characters from the Cobra unit, such as the End (his giant eyes), pain, and fear. For a good measure, Konami also throws a shot of a dramatic showdown between Snake and the boss.
The clip features the new vocals from Great Cynthia Harrell, offering a softer performance compared to the 2004 “Snake Eater” recording. Harrell’s ballads feature significantly less bass and horn instruments than the 2004 edition, enduring a psychedelic atmosphere, highlighting Harrell’s songs, “I’m still in my dreams.”
Regardless of the change, the emotions from the original song – as Norihiko Hibino, the song composer of “The concept of why we must live and why we must continue,” told passthecontroller.
At this point you’re probably wondering if players can control snakes on screen like they did in 2004. Well, the short answer is yes.
According to YouTube Video’s description, players can tackle “original interactive elements included in the in-game version of the opening.” And if Konami is celebrating the snake mini-game, it is possible that players can expect to hear a version of the song while climbing an unrealistically long ladder towards the end of the game.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater It will be released on August 28th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
