Toast Interactive has announced a VR game Max Mustard (2024) and Richie’s Plank Experience (2017) Removed from Horizon store due to quest. For now, it’s unclear exactly why, but the veteran indie studio says the move felt “betrayed and helpless.”

Temporary delisting could happen by mistake, but this does not seem to be the case. For a reason, Toast Interactive says they can’t talk about it yet, and the studio has individually focused on “helping us to share our stories with you in the near future.”
In a Reddit post, Toast Interactive says the reason is “blowing everyone’s minds away.” But I’m not being advised properly. ”
For both Max Mustard and Richie’s plank experience The reason why it’s listed is that the app is “out of compliance with Meta’s platform abuse policy,” but there is no information specifically about how it fell from compliance.
The company’s platform abuse policy covers a wide range of crimes, including pirated content, security exploits and all sorts of deceptions, but also covers ambiguous areas that are likely to remain in interpretation.
You may also delete the app if you do not comply with the developer documentation or “meta platforms Technologies Technologies Terms or Code of Conduct for a Virtual Experience, or other provisions of other Meta Platforms Technologies terms, policies, or guidelines.” With or without Warning, Meta states in the Platform Abuse Policy.

This is one of the most inappropriate times for toast interactives. Last month, Australia-based studio Gold Coast announced it would close its offices and fire a majority of its staff.
