At the special Passthecontroller Live Edition today at noon, McFarlane Toys’ Brian Walters (director, brand creative) stopped by to chat with Max Scoville and Brian Altano about what the company has in the pipeline.
Walters said the idea behind the Elite Edition is “to create a highly decorated, highly detailed, iconic version of the characters from the game.” One way these numbers stand out is to include softer items, such as Doom Slayer fur cloaks, and Walters said they are “introducing new materials that we don’t use.”
Walters noted that many of the accessories that Doom Slayer appeared in felt were “really great items from the Elite Edition” such as Parvelizers, Frail, Combat Shotguns and Shield Saws. Although pre-orders for Doom Slayer were currently sold out, Walters said the figure would be available at retailers such as Walmart and Gamestop at the time of release. And yes, some monsters hinted at Doom Slayer doing the work to fight.
Meanwhile, Lilith went up today for a pre-order tied to Passthecontroller Live. Her accessories include the fate of multiple palaces with various expressions, and Williams stated that they were the idea that “he hasn’t held back anything in this figure” and that “contains a soft PVC tail so that you can possibly pos as you wish.”
Williams said the challenge for someone like Lilith is “a balance between implementing designs, but you’re still making functional toys. You have to make tough decisions.” He added that perhaps the most difficult thing is to pull off “engineering without compromising the character’s appearance.”

For what McFarlane Toys had in the pipeline, there is Fallout’s power armor. This is based on the game, not the series. The previous numbers they made for the TV version are from the film Maniac Line, so the Power Armor will be the first clear fallout figure. Williams teased, “We should come here more. We have some good surprises coming.”
Finally, Williams showed off two numbers from the upcoming Mortal Kombat Classics line, including a boxed Sub-Zero with a very fun retro arcade package that includes box art joystick controls and original character selection images of Sub-Zero.
