True to their words, Netease is about to launch another new hero as part of Season 2 of Marvel Rivals! The midseason update, which most players call Marvel Rivals Update 2.5, will be released next week on May 30th.
The major new addition to the patch is Ultron, a character that leaked out a few months ago.
Marvel Rivals Mid Season 2.5 Update brings new team ups with Ultron
A press release submitted by Netease mentions some of the key features that seasonal updates bring to you beyond Ultron, and these are new team-up capabilities.
Ultron (Strategist) – Ultron, the pinnacle of artificial life forms, is programmed to learn and adapt far beyond human abilities. He can summon an army of automatic drones that follow all his orders, exponentially increasing your chances of victory.
After Hellfire Gala crashed into Ultron’s surprise attack, Krakoa’s mutants still faced the toughest days. Now Ultron steals their Celebrities, evolves into something even more horrifying, evolves into X-Tron and retreates to his new base, Arakko. Arachko, the sister island of Krakoa, is transformed by Ultron into a cold, merciless mechanical world, losing all its vitality. But the battle is not over. Our heroes must be reorganized after their set-off and join forces with Kurakoa to save Arakko.
New Team Up Ability – Broaer’s adjustments to Team Up have been implemented in Season 2.5. Not only that, it also adds six new team-up abilities, and four will be removed. By season 2.5, Netease states that it has more than 50% of its team-up capabilities that have been changed compared to season 0. Due to general community demand, Netease is adding Jeff-Nado team-up capabilities as part of the patch.
Alongside the new team-up and heroes, mid-season patches will also showcase the launch of new features introducing hero proficiency avatars with the Hero’s Hero Select wheel. There are also two new personalization systems introduced in the form of “mood” and “emoji.”
While the season updates are not even yet, Netease has a new limited-time event set for June 6th. This is a new limited-time experimental mode called Ultron’s Battle Matrix protocol. In the mode, six players can choose their own hero lineup, create unique builds and enhance the hero traits. Once set, you can compete against other players. This is an experimental mode, with the development team trying to “fulfil the fantasies of Marvel superheroes and super villains players.”
There will also be adjustments to hero balance along the way, and details will be shared soon.
