In the age of live service games, companies like Nintendo can continue to update their base games to their existing customer base. right?

As it turns out, Nintendo wasn’t merely sitting in its glory. According to the new developer’s diary Mario Kart WorldJapanese developers are quietly working on follow-up Mario Map 8 for a long time. Technically, Nintendo was already thinking about what to do with the next game Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Actual prototype development began in March 2017, a few years after its first release in 2014. Mario Map 8.

Everyone thought they were just watching Nintendo stack up money, but that was the reality. Mario Kart World Initially, the company was intended to switch to the original Nintendo. The booster course was released by Nintendo. Mario Map 8 I tried to buy some time while finding a way to approach my next game.

What took so long? After all, it’s not easy to remove just one of the most popular games in the latest catalog.

“I felt that Mario Kart 8 DeluxeMario Kurt producer Yabuki said: “So, this time, we wanted the gameplay to involve players driving around a big world,” says Yabuki.

Nintendo knew that they couldn’t simply create new courses or characters and call it a day. If so, the sequel would have had a more repetitive title. Mario Map 9.

“In previous Mario Kart games, you’ll be able to complete the course and then move on to the next course,” Yabuki continued. “But I thought modern technology could move seamlessly between courses and realize that a single vast world doesn’t go beyond the realm of possibilities. So with this in mind, I tried to create a new kind of Mario Kart.”

Apparently, Mario Kart WorldOften you’ll find yourself saying things like, “Well, that’s how we did that in our last game.”

Programming Director Kenta Sato explains, “From a player’s perspective, it can be particularly disappointing when a sequel changes too much. Beyond mental disabilities, Nintendo had to deal with technical hiccups as well. As we know, this switch is not particularly powerful hardware. This complicated the prospect of having 24 players in a single race.

“When we were developing it for Nintendo’s Switch System, it was difficult to incorporate everything we wanted, so we were always aware of what we were giving up in return,” says Sato. “We discussed lowering the visuals, lowering the resolution, etc. We also thought about removing the frame rate to 30 fps in some cases. That was a tough situation.”
