The photos surfaced as Videocardz, an Indonesian accreditation declaration, and the Indonesian site 91Mobiles itself links to the US FCC list. They show two new Rog Ally consoles. It’s a black model with a white vanilla model and one button decorated with the unpainted but unmistakable Xbox logo.
This is Project Keenan, an Xbox handheld that has been rumored for several months and is reportedly scheduled to be released this year. it’s not However, the Xbox handheld console. Rather, ASUS, a Windows gaming device from a third-party manufacturer, has Xbox branding, and is preloaded to the Xbox PC app, accessing PC Game Pass and more, and Xbox accesses cross-platform catalogs and more everywhere.
According to Windows Central, there are also first-party handheld Xboxes that play Xbox Console games while working, but they are not the oldest until 2027.
There isn’t much else you can tell from the photos except that FCC needs to invest in some screen wipes and a bit more stringent lighting. However, the list means that the black Xbox brand model of the Rog Ally 2 has better specs than the base model. It appears to be packed with an 8-core Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, not a white console 4-core AMD Aerith Plus.
Windows Central says Project Keenan is currently being tested “pretty openly” on Microsoft, and estimates that the device will be revealed on May 20th.
