As part of ffxiv: Daunt TrailOccult Crescent Field Operations allow players to take on it Phantom’s joba minijob that offers unique skills to help you during battle. All of these jobs are leveled individually using Exp obtained from Occult Crescent, and at patch 7.25 there is 13.
Note that under the Unlock Phantom Jobs section of the tutorial booklet, we say, “Soul Shards can come from treasure chests, certain important encounters, and more.” This does not rule out the possibility, but I cannot see which job fragments are coming from the chest when I’m writing this.
All players start with Phantom Freelancer work, but there is even more to unlock. There are several ways to unlock different phantom jobs ffxivdetailed explanation below.
Complete the Occult Crescent Quest
This is the first way to unleash chunks of phantom jobs. This work is more or less useful as a tutorial, so it’s not too difficult to discuss it with a nearby NPC and complete it as part of an occult crescent story.
Unlock three jobs by completing the quest “New Job, Old Tricks.” Knight, Monkand The Bard.
Buy them for silver and gold coins
Basecamp merchants (“Expedition Antiquaarians”) sell job seekers in large sums under the “Battlecraft Items” category of the currency they need to use.
Once you have the job’s shards, you can simply use them from inventory (the same way as minions and potions) and they will be added to your options.
Complete a specific important encounter
There is also the opportunity to drop the job shade, as marked on the map below.
Please note that these are not guaranteed to drop from the encounters above. In the days I did these, shards reduced the time by about 50%, but that doesn’t mean that 50% is the actual drop rate. Continue them as they pop up and you will eventually get soul shards.
The extra soul shards you get can be sold back to Base Camp “Expedition Trader” NPCs to get 10 Silver Pieces each.
