One of the amazing features that arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 is that you can connect your camera to the console using it in parallel with the new GameChat feature. Features like mismatch allow you to chat with friends and meet each other while playing Mario Kart World Or other online multiplayer games.
The Switch 2 camera was originally launched at $49.99, but Nintendo has raised prices for almost every Switch 2 accessories following the tariff news, but the console costs remain unchanged.
Although the Switch 2 has been confirmed to support a variety of third-party USB-C webcams, Nintendo’s official camera is a somewhat affordable option that comes with a built-in stand and privacy shutter (the microphone is built into the Switch 2 itself). It has built-in apps built into Switch 2 to test compatibility with non-optional webcams.
Another camera option that will start right after Switch 2 on June 11th is the Hori Nintendo Switch 2 Piranha Plant camera. This $59.99 camera takes the shape of a carnivorous plant found in the Mushroom Kingdom and is currently available for pre-order from Best Buy or Target. The Piranha Plant Camera has a poseable stem that can be detached from the base, but its mouth can be closed to act as a privacy shutter. Although this camera is more expensive than the first-party version, it should be noted that the camera’s resolution is only 480p compared to the 1080p found on the official Switch 2 camera.
