  • What’s next for Tomb Raider?

Tomb Raider has a chartered history, and Lara Croft delves into abandoned bees and graves around the world. Overcoming every obstacle set in her path, Lara threw herself into the exclusive and acclaimed pantheon of the iconic video game protagonist.

With a new Tomb Raider currently under development in Crystal Dynamics, the new Lara Adventure on Horizon allows interested people to start (or restart) a fast adventure from the start.

There are a total of 20 Tomb Raider games released as of 2025. These games are split into three different timelines, each different from each other, offering slightly different plot lines and slightly different spins to Lara and her supporting cast.

Fourteen of these games were released for home consoles, with six people supporting handheld portable consoles, and six people supporting mobile devices. Tomb Raider: Prophecy, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Temple of Lara Croft and Osiris, Lara Croft Go, Lara Croft: Relic Run, and Reloaded Tomb Raider are all standalone titles and are therefore not included in these lists.

If you’re planning on your first franchise in 2025, we recommend starting with the 2013 Tomb Raider Reboot. The first entry in the “Survivor” trilogy sets the stage for Lara Croft’s latest expedition series, running its latest mainline game, 2018 Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
