Monster Hunter Wilds is a very vast game with a variety of monsters hunting and turning them into gear. Even with that huge roster, the game doesn’t slow down anytime soon.
Along with Title Update 1, the game has been added to the brand new monster To Hunt, Bubble Blowing Bandit Mizutsune. This slippery fox brings some new mechanics to the game along with it. So you might want to prepare before jumping in and driving you to extinction.
Well, to the good stuff, we can make sure you can hunt this goofy guy sooner than later. There are no sure shots of victory, but with the right mindset and the tools you need, you can overcome any battle.
How to hunt mizun
If you need permission from Alma to hunt this cheerful beast, you must be at least Hunter Rank 21. Once there, you will see a special blue exclamation point in the scar-colored forest environment overview.
Head to Base Camp and beeline it to a backfishing spot where Kanya is waiting with the same icon above her head. Once you start talking, you will be trapped in a side quest, so you will need to make sure this is what you want, or you will have to abandon the quest.
Alma shows you the way to your battlefield, and after a fast cutscene, it’s time to hunt.
How to defeat Mizun
This slippery fox is a slightly interesting addition to the roster. It’s not very difficult at the basic level, but it keeps moving and keeps you at bay with a constant bubble bath.
Before diving into the real battle, let’s cover some of the basic aspects of future encounters. Mizutsune actually has three elements weaknesses. So there are several options for how to tackle it.
- Thunder is the most effective of the three factors against Mizngen.
- Dragons are the second most effective, but are not readily available at lower levels.
- Ice is not the most effective, but it certainly does get the job done.
Sonic bombs should not be used as they are ineffective. However, the flashpods and traps work fine.
If you have water gear, you’ll probably want to use it because there are so many bubbles. Dodging the heat of the battle can be difficult, so try to stay on your toes.
There are so many bubbles in the field that you need to cover the types and how they work.
- usually – This bubble will give you with bubble bright and deal a small amount of damage.
- pink – This will do some damage and will stagger at you.
- red – Provides a small damage boost in addition to normal damage.
- green – Provides small healing effects.
Getting hits with one bubble will dodge better and consume less stamina, but once you hit it again, it will slide here and there and slide.
If you are using a long range weapon, you can easily pop when bubbles come over you, but for melee users it’s a bit difficult to pop. Mizutsune sends bubbles at random intervals, but the movement that needs to be noted is called the Bubble Whirlpool.
Like its same name, this movement creates a ton of bubbles and shoots them throughout the area. Your best bet is to pop these suckers or keep moving.
While furious, Miztune does something charming. It starts to burn the bubbles. This will pack good punches and cause burn damage, so avoid them if possible.
If you’re confident enough to take part in the attack, you can actually pop the bubbles close enough to the mucus and use your own bubbles to do serious damage.
Overall, your best bet is to stay on the move and get as much hit as possible. My personal advice is to beat the face as there is a 4 star weakness to reduce damage and do dull damage there. This means it can be placed on your back quite easily.
