The island prefers to create polarization tasks that challenge the audience.
Usually, when developers create games, they want as many people as possible to like it and play it. This is logical, isn’t it? If you’re an artist like Kojima Hideo, that’s not the case.
Death Posture 2: On the beach, Kojima changed it because people like the game.
One of the people working on the game confirmed that we have been suspicious all along. Kojima is trend-sensitive.
The Kojima had become mainstream, so we changed the Strang 2 of Death
The news was revealed by Woodkid (real name: Yoann Lemoine), a composer of Death Stranding 2. In an interview with RolingStone, Woodkid revealed that Kojima had concerns about the game.
Woodkid said, “There’s a key moment when we were playing the game and maybe halfway through (thru) he came over to me and said, ‘There’s a problem.’ Then he said. “I’ll be very honest. We’ve been testing the game with players, and the results are too good. They love it too much. It means something is wrong. We have to change something.” And he changed some important things (events) in the script and the game because he thought his work was not polarized and didn’t cause enough emotions. That means it is traditional. That means people have already been pre-digested to like it. And I don’t want that. I want people to fall in love with the things they dislike when they first encounter them. That’s because you really end up loving something. And that was a lesson for me. Don’t do anything to please people.
This may sound absurd for the most part, but considering that Kojima is constantly marching to his own drum beats, it’s not entirely shocking. This is why he makes each of his games an experience.
If I were you, I value this. I treasure this because Kojima said that given his plate is already full when it comes to future death stranding games, he would likely pass it on to another Kojima production developer.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be released on PS5 only on June 26th.
