Originally scheduled to be released in May, the PS5-only RPG by Chinese studio Ultizero Games, titled “Lost Soul Arase,” is officially behind.
The new release date for Lost Soul Arase is August 29, 2025, so the delay is several months.
Lost soul needs more time for Polish
The studio announced the news on Twitter/X, posted by game director Yang Bing. Additionally, Yang Bing confirmed that it is “working on providing a high-quality gaming experience,” and that it is about more time working on the game. “You’ll be spending extra time honing your game to fit the standard that standard Ultizero Games sets up yourself.”
It’s a good 3 month delay, but I’d love to see it pushed back a few months later than playing a buggy game at launch with the promise of a patch. Live service games can escape with rocky launches that have been smoothed out by updates, but they are not the same as single-player experiences. Usually what you see is what you get and is the moment when the player hears how buggy the game’s buggy is? It’s very difficult to recover from that.
Lost Soul Adaf is an action-adventure RPG released by Sony Interactive Entertainment on PS5 and PC. The official game description reads, “I embark on an epic Odyssey to save my sister and the whole humanity from the invaders of mystical dimensions beyond the starry sky of lost souls.”
With the delay in Lost Soul Arase, Sony has a big game scheduled to be released in August and October. Lost Soul Adaf will carry the PlayStation Flag in August, the marathon will be released on all platforms in September, and Ghost of Yotei will be released in October. Assuming nothing is late, it’s one AAA title a month for three months.
The gameplay released may suggest that, but the lost soul is not a soul-like experience, so it will soften those expectations accordingly.
