The ongoing Galactic War in Helldivers 2 appears to have reached another turning point, with the Federation declared victory over lighting.
“Illuminate has retreated from the Super Earth Battle Space,” reads the universe’s message to the gaming community. “The center of democracy is defended. The battle of Super Earth is won.”
The Illuminate invasion certainly has been victimized to the super-earth, with only two megacities remaining.
“The remaining illuminated forces were last observed and we were able to do an FTL jump from the Super Earth Orbit,” the message continues. “The enemy also opened up the ports of New Haven, Pian V, and Widows, and burned the surfaces of those planets when they fled. The stations did not detect any illuminated forces. The enemy is hidden. They will be found.
“After a few days of nonstop battles, Super Earth Stand. The temperament of managed democracy was tested. The will of the people overcame the enemy. The Heldies achieved victory.”
The problem is that no one believes Heldivar has achieved a long-lasting victory here. Like the way developer Arrowhead is, federated communication is propaganda by default, and more confusion is almost certainly coming into the pipe. And players really want to chase the lights while retreating.
Meanwhile, an in-game message revealed that the Super Earth president was killed, fighting back against the lighting forces. But again, there was healthy skepticism from the players, with some saying it might have illuminated the communication in disguise. What’s going on here?
It is worth noting that Heldivers 2 suffered a controversy over the invasion this week, leading to a new flood of negative reviews.
Since the center of democracy was revealed, players have fought to retain a variety of super-earth megacities that cater to major real-life cities. For example, the York Supreme roughly corresponds to New York and remembers it in Buenos Aires. As the invasion continues, more and more cities fall, with only equal equality (Shanghai) and the capital of Super Earth, the prosperity city (Stockholm).
The effort came together behind the equality of the sea to make the final stand. However, Equality On-Sea never hits 100%. The current Ark has closed at 99.9783% city percentage meter. Many of the negative reviews are in Chinese, and although machine translations don’t seem accurate enough to quote, there are some repetition points that can be easily collected. Frustration at driving the story, thumb perception on arrow scales, repetitive mentions of “99.9783%.”
What’s next? Well, at first, the Federation needs a new president. Let’s see which game master Joel has his sleeves.
